Unbelievable. One word. Our elderly mother was passing, and we had family coming in from out of town. As we waited, one of her nurses, Karen Reid, went over and beyond caring for her, exceeding every expectation. As mom lay there unconscious, Karen spoke to her, made sure she was comfortable, told her what she was going to do before acting, and was extremely punctual while administering comfort care to ensure mom was calm and comfortable. Karen's actions throughout the care minimized mom's fear and anxiety as she entered the final moments of her life, and in turn, ours. I cannot impart to you the treasure you have with this nurse. We were going through what many other families have experienced, but you need to know that one of our best memories of this time with our mother will be Karen, a true angel, unique in so many ways, with a special skill set and bedside manner. Her communications with us and to our mom were quite frankly, unbelievable. Karen was exceptional in every way. I close by saying- well done, Summit! You have identified qualified, compassionate, skilled, and special employees.
