Karen Soltez was nominated by a colleague for exemplifying the caring and compassionate qualities of a DAISY nurse. She provides comfort to patients and promotes a safe, efficient work environment for her fellow perianesthesia nurses. She voluntarily assists with the unit’s work schedule and handles this task with professionalism and diligence while being sensitive to the individual needs of her peers. She also provides a perianesthesia review course in the evenings for nurses who are interested in obtaining their certification. She recognizes the importance of certification for professional development and how it contributes to improved patient outcomes.
