Karen went above and beyond in her efforts to provide well-rounded patient-centered care. I went through a very traumatic experience, something I had no control over and became extremely down. From the moment Karen saw me, she connected with me and treated me as if I were her own daughter. She gave me an outfit that she found just to make me feel less like a patient and feel like myself again. Karen took me to the sky lounge and consoled me during a really hard time, as well as bought me lunch, dessert, and a smoothie. Her goal was to see me improve even outside of her medical responsibility. I really created a bond with my nurse and she made me cry just witnessing how much she cared for me. I will always remember her and everything she's done for me.
Also, she took her time with me and made sure I was ready and comfortable with everything going on and comforted me when I became overwhelmed with all the shots and procedures and the physical/mental pain that I was going through. Karen really does mean a lot to me and I will be forever grateful to her. She is a true DAISY Nurse.
