Karen had a patient who voiced concerns regarding being able to get his needs met following discharge from the hospital. Karen learned that this patient lived close to her. She assisted this patient sign up with a local health club and bus transportation for doctor appointments. After a fall at home, she brought him to the emergency department for treatment. She is described as caring and kind to all her patients. She frequently checks on her patients after they are discharged to the floor. Because the patients know that she truly cares about them, they actually listen to her instructions. Karen touches the lives of her patients and she makes a difference.
