Karen Werner, RN

Karen is a true source of light and joy in the GI Lab. She finds a way to make very busy days enjoyable and makes me laugh every time I work with her. Karen is a supportive colleague, often preparing cases for others and stepping in to clean a room or help out. In addition to this, the way she cares for patients is second to none.

She’s kind and empathetic. She finds a way to make the most of limited moments by listening to their concerns, adapting to their needs (such as speaking slowly and close to a patient who is hard of hearing versus raising her voice), and has used her knowledge and fluency of a second language to care for patients with said language.
