Kari Diaz, BSN, RN

I would like to nominate Kari for motivating our patient to eat, walk, and get cleaned up. Our patient was confused due to his CAR T yesterday. He was not able to follow commands. When I received report from Kari in the morning she told me to order him oatmeal and maybe he would eat it. As Kari was giving him his AM meds she noticed he was alert and much better than yesterday. She asked him if he had walked or got out of bed to walk to the commode. He said "No". Right away she called for physical therapy to come and help him. Minutes later PT took him outside for a walk. Kari is so dedicated to our patients and her integrity towards our patients and this organization is amazing. Not only did she have me order breakfast, but our patient also took a walk and he told me, "I am so glad the nurse told you to order me food, and she called PT. I feel so good." When an RN has the ability to motivate PT and get him talking, eating and walking, that alone is amazing. She is a woman of integrity. She is an awesome RN.
