I met Kari first thing in the morning when I got to the hospital. It was early and she was bright and cheerful, told me she would be with me for the day. I was so anxious and scared as I was having surgery. She had a way of making me feel calm. Kari made me feel like “we” were going to get through the day together. My surgery was postponed to much later in the day, and Kari kept me updated and checked on me and my family in the waiting room. Kari spent time with me and explained things to me when I had questions. She has a gentle and warm personality that made me feel comfortable. Kari sought answers to questions I had related to meds. She was attentive the entire time while working with her other patients. I felt like my sister was taking care of me. Kari has a special smile and a way of just putting my anxiety at rest. She came by the recovery area to see how I was doing after surgery, which I felt was special. I feel as though my day was calmed by her presence, and the anxiety I came in with was gone. Kari changed the whole dynamic of the day for me. I am so happy there is a way to share how special she is and how much I appreciate her.
