When you meet Kari you are immediately charmed by her warm personality. When you are fortunate enough to work with her, you benefit from her strong expertise and years of experience as well as her impressive IV skills. I imagine when you are a patient in her care you feel at ease knowing that you are being cared for by the very best.

Recently I had a close friend whose dad was a patient in the CCU. Kari was assigned to be his nurse on admission and within a matter of hours, she was practically a member of the family. In addition to managing his complex cardiac condition as well as multiple comorbidities with ease, she found time to get to know him. She shared stories about herself and her family and listened while he shared about his. I’ve always been so impressed with Kari’s ability to immediately bond with patients; it's part of what makes her such a special nurse.

Kari’s bubbly personality and sense of humor make her easy to get along with. She’s always willing to help a coworker with any task and always has time to answer questions from fellow nurses. Even our doctors will look to her for guidance! She’s comfortable in emergency situations and never panics. Kari’s IV insertion skills are legendary around the hospital. She’s known to land a 20 gauge in the patients that no one else can get. She’s always willing to pitch in by picking up more overtime than anyone else in CCU.
