Kari was nominated by a patient. The patient had an increased level of anxiety due to COVID. Kari saw that the patient was seeking reassurance and had questions. He was concerned about an upcoming stress test. Kari pulled a chair beside him and explained things to him in easy-to-understand terms. He was impressed that she would take time out of her busy schedule to do this. She helped settle the patient’s fears and provided him hope that a course of treatment would be identified. The patient admired Kari’s compassion and her willingness to go above and beyond.
