Kari was leaving the hospital when she encountered an elderly gentleman in the lobby who was in need of assistance. He arrived alone from a care facility, using a walker, shuffling along dressed only in a hospital gown. He had an "ostomy device" that was leaking on him as well as the floor. Kari was able to get the gentleman into the bathroom to provide some privacy where she got him cleaned up and into some clean scrubs as well as making sure housekeeping was notified to clean the floors. Kari followed up with this gentleman's care facility in regards to his needs and to make sure he had a safe way to get back there.

Kari always puts the patients needs first, being their advocate. She is always smiling and makes me want to be a better person! I may have alot to teach Kari about being a nurse, but Kari has a lot to teach me about being a better human!
