As an aspiring nurse, working as a PCT has been very beneficial. With that, I enjoy learning and following nurses here to gain as much experience as I can. One nurse in particular, Karin Evans, has taught me so much. She exemplifies what kind of nurse I strive to become.
Karin's compassion and patience is inspiring. We have had a very challenging patient on our unit for quite some time and Karin was having an extremely hard day. Working alongside with her, I kept thinking to myself, "How is she not losing her cool right now?" Throughout the day, Karin continued to remain professional. She took a tough situation, looked at all of the positive outcomes, continued to laugh, and most importantly wasn't afraid to ask for help.
The family of this patient had been pretty upset throughout the process, but with Karin as her nurse, the family looked very peaceful. Karin has a gift and I am extremely grateful to be able to work with her. Karin is a true blessing to Providence.
