Karin is an exceptional nurse who gives selflessly to her patients both at St. Mary's Hospital and beyond, time and time again. Recently, Karin met a patient who was a single mother with two children. The family needed several social services, which included help for the mother as well as further care for both kids. The family was homeless, but the mother had a job interview. Karin took the woman to Walmart on her own time to purchase food, toys for the kids and other essential items. She also paid for a tank of gas so she could get to her job interview. Not only did she get to the interview, but she got the job! There is no way to measure the lasting impact Karin's actions will have on this family, but everyone can agree that Karin went far above and beyond to give the family the opportunity for a fresh start.
