They both felt like Karin treated them like family members and made them feel they mattered and Karin really cared about him and his well-being.
A patient mentioned that Karin had been caring for him for several days in a row and he and his family wanted to share with someone the amazing work Karin does in caring for patients. The patient mentioned she had constant understanding and always anticipated their needs. An example the patient shared was prior to the patient calling asking for pain medication, Karin would pop her head in the door and let the patient know that there is 1 hour until you get something for pain and asked if would he be in need of this.
The patient also mentioned that she made him feel that she was never in a rush. For example, he shared that he was asking about the two IV sites he had and she took the time to explain what medications were running through the IVs and what they were for and pointed them out on the pump so I can see what was running. The patient mentioned he appreciated that Karin included his family in the care by asking his wife if she had any questions or needed anything.
The patient’s wife mentioned that she felt most comfortable when Karin was in charge of her husband’s care. The wife felt she knew Karin was taking care of him and she did not have to worry. She was very responsive, told them the plan, and updated them frequently. They both felt like Karin treated them like family members and made them feel they mattered and Karin really cared about him and his well-being. They thought everyone was friendly and great that took care of them however Karin was different and stood out of the crowd as going above and beyond in her care of patients.
