Karin is the best thing that has ever happened to Peacehealth. She has been known for years as a knowledgeable and confident critical thinker. Her nursing skills are exceptional. In addition, Karin is the most compassionate, sincere, patient advocate that I have ever known in my 30 years of nursing. Since she has accepted a position in our department literally a week does not go by that a patient and or family member doesn't bring some sort of appreciation in a card or goodies to thank her for her attentive care. She is observed daily laughing, singing, and bringing real joy to the patients. In one letter recently the woman was so grateful to Karin for easing her fears and anxieties about having a procedure. Last week she was seen holding a patient who was crying. There is no person Karin wouldn't sincerely go the extra mile for. This includes being a team player on our unit. She gladly takes on the workload and there is nothing she couldn't handle.
