Karisma Sapkota Sapkota Subedi, BSN
In my lifetime, beginning with heart surgeries at ages five and ten, I have had multiple hospital stays in various facilities and have encountered many good nurses. However, Karisma was the best nurse I have ever had.
When she came on duty Sunday morning, I had already been in the hospital for 36 hours, 12 of those in the emergency department. She took the time to listen to everything I had been through since arriving and then committed to doing what she could to expedite my tests so I could be discharged.
Throughout the day, she kept me informed, and thanks to her efforts, I left in time to get home before dark.
Her care was especially meaningful because every time she came into my room, she made me feel as though I was her only patient. She never rushed, took the time to answer all my questions, and made sure I was ordering my meals.
I was particularly grateful for her exceptional patience when she carefully removed all the tape from my body before I was discharged.
At 69 years old, it was reassuring to feel like more than just another name on a list. I am sincerely grateful for the patience, compassion, professionalism, and genuine interest Karisma showed as my nurse.
