Karissa had a patient on Med/Onc who was homeless and had very bad wounds on his feet. The patient unfortunately did not have adequate clothing or shoes for the winter weather. The patient had also expressed to Karissa that he was going to interview for some jobs after discharging from the hospital. Karissa went down to the clothing donation closet to try and find the patient clothes and shoes. There were not any shoes in the patient's size available. Karissa went to Walmart after her shift that night and bought the patient new clothes and shoes so that he would have something to wear when he left. She also bought him a nice outfit to wear for his job interviews. The patient was so thankful for this. Karissa always goes above and beyond to make sure her patients get the best care possible.
