Karla McDonald was my Mother's nurse during her stay at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Karla's care, compassion, concern, and overall genuine care exceeded above and beyond our expectations. I noticed her expert nursing skills and talents when arriving at the room, she began by introducing her to mother, welcoming her, showed true concern for her illness and situation and the need for anything during her stay.
It was evident Karla would go above and beyond her duty just to make sure Mother was comfortable, and she made it a point that Mother understood what was being done, what would happen during her stay, and the treatments that were given to her during this time. Karla was consistent and she was always there as soon as we needed something. It was always like she knew what we would need. She would have uplifting conversations with Mother while providing exceptional care. It was another small gesture that stood out to me and was recognized by my family members as well.
Karla's kindness and care were deeply heartfelt. The way she spoke to Mother was reassuring to us as well as to her patient; her respect and gentleness were awesome. Respect as if it were an honor to be her nurse and the gentleness of a mother to a child. You just felt her sincere genuine compassion spill out as she talked, asked questions, listened to, and cared for her patient. For the exceptional clinical and personal care our Mother received; I would like to extend a special thank you to Karla for her extraordinary courtesy and service.
