Karla Thornton planned and executed a Halloween scavenger hunt for a long-term special-needs patient of the hospital. Karla shopped for gifts that were appropriate for this resident, utilizing her own time to shop and plan the scavenger hunt. Karla came in on her day off to set up the scavenger hunt, she walked around with the resident as he looked for and located the gifts. Karla demonstrated the true compassionate nursing spirit of caring in meeting the needs of this special patient.
