Karla is one of the most exceptional and caring nurses you will ever come across in the nursing field. She stands out for so many reasons. Karla has such a passion for her labor patients and it shows each day she comes to work. She always gives each patient everything she has, and she is always the patient’s best advocate.

I have seen Karla work so hard to help her patients have vaginal deliveries and I have also seen her wipe the tears and hold the hands of mothers when things do not go as planned. Karla is such a down-to-earth person and is someone who can always relate with her patients and make them feel so comfortable during such a challenging time. That is a skill demonstrated by a truly compassionate nurse.

What’s even more amazing is Karla is currently working on her nurse practitioner schooling to work as an NP in Women’s health. She does her clinical time in OB offices and patients get to see just how amazing she is and establish a bond and relationship with her. They can’t wait to see her when they come for their delivery.

I think everyone could agree that Karla is a leader in the Women Services unit. Whenever she is the team leader, she makes sure that she is there to help everyone even when she may have an assignment of her own. She’s the kind of friend you want in your life and the player you want on your team. The world needs more nurses like Karla.
