It's hard being behind the scenes to get recognized for doing something great for a patient. So, when they do, I feel it needs to be recognized. Karley always has good beside behavior every time a patient comes back from surgery.
The patient has thinning hair and uses a hairpiece on the top of their head. The patient really liked the surgical cap Karley was wearing and ask where to get them. After the patient came to the unit, Karley brought up one of her surgical caps for the patient. The family was in the room and said the patient would love that. The patient wore the cap while walking the halls.
This kindness is exactly what patients need especially being in the hospital and not feeling their best. A nurse that took care of the patient days later said the patient loved it and continued to wear the cap for all their walks.
