Karly was working on a patient discharge and found out that the patient also had another family member in-house who was made Comfort Care. The family of this patient was being asked to come into St. Joseph's to say final farewells. As it happened, Karly's patient needed to be discharged by wheelchair, and the regular transport service was unable to assist in the moment. She went out of her way to arrange for the patient to have the opportunity to visit her family member and say goodbye to her loved one. The family was unbelievably grateful for Karly's thoughtfulness, and I was privileged to be able to assist with this family and witness the result of her kindness. Karly truly is the kind of person and nurse anyone would want on their care team.
