There are a lot of details that I won’t go into in this email, but my mom had her surgery yesterday and the doctor removed her band and did the sleeve. He had to remove a lot of scar tissue. Several hours after getting to her room she coded and was then moved. I want you to know that if it wasn’t for the quick actions of her nurse and the rest of everyone that came running to her room, she may not be here. Everyone was so caring and attentive not just to mom, but to my sister and me.

I just wanted you to know what great people you have working for you. This nurse demonstrates extraordinary compassion, outstanding clinical skills, dedication, and heart. When I round on patients, I know patients having this nurse will always have a great experience here at ProMedica. They reach patients at their level and treat others with respect and dignity. Their compassion does not stop with their patients but extends to their families, co-workers, and any guests throughout ProMedica facilities. They are a role-model for their fellow nurses. Caring and nursing are synonymous when it comes to this person. For this reason, I would like to recognize Karrie as a DAISY Nurse.
