Karyn received several nominations from both patients and a nursing student. The overarching theme of each was her professionalism and personal attention to everyone she meets. One patient shared, "She didn't just care for her patient, but her patient's family. All caretakers should in some way attempt to reflect Karyn's compassion. It's unlike anyone else I know." The nursing student shared, "Karyn is one of the most skilled professionals. She was my preceptor for two days, and I learned more from her in those two days than I did in nursing school."
