All of this is completely unexpected and I cannot say enough how much we truly appreciate everyone's efforts, especially Kassandra.
Our 2-year-old daughter has been coming to CHOG since September 2022, every other week. Kassandra has always had the room prepared for our arrival, is quick to greet us, and always shows us true compassionate care. Specifically, our energetic daughter needs to keep her mind busy. Kassandra recently stepped in and retrieved some interactive toys for our daughter she knew would be loved. Since there are so many communicable diseases on the floor, we don't feel it's best to go to the playroom ourselves right now. Knowing that the floor is full (only one bed open) and her going out of her way during her shift, all while fulfilling her charge nurse responsibilities, to keep our daughter comfortable and engaged means more than we could express. Even more, Kassandra continued to impress us when she exercised extreme patience during care when our daughter is just done with being touched. It wasn't too long before there were endless tea parties for all that would come to visit us (doctors, residents, nurses, etc.) Additionally, Kassandra loves on our 6-month-old while we help comfort our daughter during her treatment. All of this is completely unexpected and I cannot say enough how much we truly appreciate everyone's efforts, especially Kassandra for making us feel so loved and cared for during our hospital stays.
