Cassie is definitely a phenomenal nurse. Her knowledge and personality make her our go-to person. On night shift, during rounds, she listens to our concerns and addresses them. During RRT calls or code blues, she responds quickly and intervenes constructively. She’s also an amazing educator, especially to newer nurses. Our debriefing moments are learning sessions where we definitely gain more knowledge because she’s always open to questions and sharing additional “what if” moments that can prepare us for similar situations that may arise. Our staff is definitely comfortable asking her anything. Many ICU charge nurses just ask, "How’s the unit?" write down room numbers, say they’ll take a look, and leave. Cassie asks a series of questions, physically checks on the patient, and offers suggestions that prevent the patient from deteriorating. Not only does she handle RRT and code blue calls, but she also always checks on the patient’s family if they are present. I definitely don’t speak for myself; all of us on nephrology greatly appreciate everything you do! Cassie, you are an extraordinary nurse!
