Kat fights with love, empathy, positive energy, charisma, and cherishes each life, as a life worth fighting for.
Kat was notified that a patient missed his appointment and could not be located at his place of residence. She went to great lengths to locate the patient and ensure he was safe. For three days, she worked with staff, management, Elder Protective Services, and Reno and Sparks Police Departments. Through her diligence, Kat was able to locate the patient using Care Everywhere in Epic. She found that the patient had made their way to a neighboring hospital in California. She immediately notified all parties involved and got to work in making sure that the patient got his cancer treatment. The patient was successfully transferred back to Renown and resumed the care he needed to treat his cancer. Kat works hard every day to ensure our patients get the quality care they deserve in a timely manner. She is efficient in her process and is willing to take on any challenge. We are so fortunate to have a nurse of such caliber on our team.

Kat is a compassionate and exceptional nurse and human being. I have witnessed her continuous efforts with patients that may or may not even know the fight she has to ensure their care. Kat fights with love, empathy, positive energy, charisma, and cherishes each life, as a life worth fighting for. Her countless hours do not go unnoticed and her devotion is one to be honored!
Kat went above and beyond several times this week with patient situations that required a high degree of effort and finesse. She took responsibility where others did not to ensure our patients were taken care of and getting the help they need. She involved other outside resources in order to wrap services around a patient in desperate need of an advocate. She puts the patient at the center of the decisions she makes and does anything in her power, including reaching out for help, to get patients taken care of. Kat is a role model of Living Our Values and our patients are better off because of it. Thank you, Kat!

Kat has been very proactive in ensuring a patient's safety. A patient did not show up to the scheduled appointment and she has made constant efforts to find the patient. The patient is currently missing, and Kat has been collaborating with leadership to ensure law enforcement is involved. Kat has been proactive in trying to locate them. Kat has contacted community agencies to request assistance and has relayed the level of vulnerability of this patient to law enforcement. Her work on trying to assist this patient goes above and beyond. Kat is an extraordinarily hard-working oncology nurse navigator who cares about all of her patients and collaborates well with staff.
