After 3 days of labor ending in an emergency C-section, I was transferred up to the labor and delivery floor. From the day I walked into the hospital through the ER to then being admitted for induction process, the extraordinary care exceeded my expectations. I have worked here since the doors opened and know what an excellent team we have and feel so blessed to say I work here. When I see someone go above and beyond I like to recognize their extraordinary care. Kat stood out and left an imprint on my heart. Low and behold I had no clue at the time she was just in orientation, this was told to me after I mentioned to another nurse how amazing Kat was! I never planned on having a C-section. So, waking up in so much pain was unreal. I was vulnerable, scared, exhausted, and shaking all over and Kat was there to lift my spirits and tell me everything was going to be okay and she was not going to leave my side. She helped me to the bathroom. During my first shower, she never left the bathroom to make sure I was okay. She was so professional, kind and showed me dignity through a very uncomfortable situation, with my modesty thrown out the window. She made an embarrassing moment not so bad. She even had warm blankets waiting to dry me off when I got out of the shower. What a small gesture but a huge impact that made. I'm amazed at the fact I found out later she was in training. You would have thought she had been a nurse for years if it wasn't for her adorable baby face. She touched my heart during my stay and was so wonderful to me and my angel baby. Not only did she treat my baby and me great, she treated my husband and family so sweet! We cannot thank her enough for going that extra mile to make our stay feel like home.
