Katarina was part of a team who helped to save my mom's life after contracting COVID-19 and needing intubation. She not only was intelligent, diligent, and provided excellent patient care, but she also treated us like human beings. On several occasions, she would hold me while I cried, while I felt my world was crashing down, she wiped my tears, and even though we had no idea how things were going to end, she truly made me feel as if things were going to be ok. Lo and behold, Katarina's strength, knowledge, and confidence showed through, because today my mom is alive. She not only saved my mom's life, but she also saved me and my kids, too, as a world without my mom is one with no light. We can see through the day now with the light my mom's smile brings us.
