June 2026 Honoree
Katarzyna Sulkowska, Mrs
I am a new patient at Hammersmith Hospital for my Sickle Cell treatment. My first time that I arrived at the renal and haematology triage unit I was greeted by this lovely, kind nurse. She kept me updated throughout my stay about my treatment and was always there to help me or give me medication when I was in severe pain. I have been to the Triage unit for a few weeks now, and every time I arrive, the same nurse looks after me. We have now built a lovely patient-to-nurse relationship where I feel comfortable and trust her to share personal things that might be on my mind; she always puts me at ease and is helpful in whatever way she can. Being in hospital can be a daunting experience, but when I know I have her as my nurse taking care of me. It really puts my mind at ease, as I know I will be taken care of well. I would like to nominate this nurse for her exceptional nursing skills.
Thank you, Katarzyna, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
