Katie is the true definition of a team player. As I was starting to get report on my new admission, the patient had just arrived on the unit. Katie, without being asked, grabbed all the stuff and welcomed my patient while I continued to get report; she started the assessment and paperwork of the admission. When I was able to get done, Katie had already gotten started and I was able to continue. She went ahead and got me a sandwich because she knew I wouldn't have had time to get lunch on time. She and the charge nurse helped me as well with med pass since it was a busy time for meds for my other patients. Throughout the day, Katie kept checking on me, and helped me out a lot in a very stressful time, especially since this was a difficult admission. If she wouldn't have helped me or gotten me something to eat, I wouldn't have been able to survive that day. I will never be able to thank her enough for what she did that day, and does every day with me and everyone else. Katie is an awesome nurse to her patients and families, and one of the best co-workers anyone can ever ask for.
