Kate DeCraene, BSN, RN, OCN

Since my first round of Chemotherapy, Kate D. has been my attending nurse. On my first visit, my wife was able to attend this round and Kate could not have been more personable, informative, and professional. This was a trying time, and Kate explained everything every step of the way in a very approachable personality - from the initial connection to my new port to explaining every individual drug as it was administered. While I have my obvious concerns about my situation, my wife was very stressed and Kate took notice and really made the situation more positive and uplifting with her care and manner.

Every time I have returned for another infusion treatment, Kate continues to show a welcoming and positive attitude which definitely reduces the stress of the situation and helps me get through another Chemotherapy. While the entire staff has been fantastic at the Sage Center (Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital Cancer Center), my wife and I both offer our sincere thanks to Kate for helping us through this time.
