I have been a nurse for 50 years and have never observed a more skilled nurse. Kate moves effortlessly and completes all her duties as an expert. She cared for my son, who is 48, and had to have his right lung removed. On day 4 post-op, she did a neuro check. She noticed his pupils were uneven in size and reported it to the doctor, who in turn ordered a CAT scan, which showed 2 lesions in his brain. If it weren’t for her diligence in following the doctor's orders to a tee this would not have been found. Her caring and care for her patience is exemplary. In addition, the unit was short-staffed, and Kate had the duty of Charge Nurse in addition to her 2 patients and completed her duties with apparent ease.
