Kate is an RN on our Med/Surg floor and was nominated by one of her patients. He said that she was nominated for the compassion she had toward him. She always has a smile on her face and it feels like she has a real concern for him. She kept his meds from getting mixed up and was very consistent in her care. She was kind and discussed everything with his wife and then made sure to explain things in a way that he also understood. If she was unable to return to him quickly she would explain why and the patient noticed that the doctors really seemed to trust Kate.
