Kate Lombardozzi, BSN, RN, CPN

Kate worked tirelessly during her shift to ensure a patient who was made comfort care and was dying, was not alone. His family did not want to come to visit him or see him pass, so she did everything she could to keep him company and arrange for visitors so that he was not alone in his time of need. He was sadly in a shared room during this experience, and she also had a very sick child across the room from him. She seamlessly comforted the parents across the curtain and took great care of her second patient while ensuring her passing patient was well cared for. She went above and beyond what should have been required that shift and under less than ideal circumstances. I hope she knows she made a difference in her dying patient’s last moments and hopefully brought him peace.
