Kate went above and beyond by helping a patient with relaxation from a severe panic attack on the unit. The patient was extremely distressed and Kate not only took the time to de-escalate the situation, but she also sat at the patient's bedside and completed documentation. While she was at the bedside, she played the patient's favorite music and asked the patient where her happy place was and to imagine that she was there. This interaction helped the patient gain confidence and helped her feel comfortable in an unfamiliar place. This patient's experience shows Kate's commitment to a higher level of care. She went above and beyond what was required of her.
