Kate was efficient, capable, compassionate, and informative.
I was in the ER in October. I sought ER care as I had a hypertensive episode and could not get an appointment with my PCP until mid-November. I was greeted by a courteous security guard and was directed to registration. Sometime later, I had a head scan, blood work, CAR, and an EKG. I was very pleased that all of this was completed while waiting for a bed.

Around 2 AM, I was admitted to a bed by Kate, my ER nurse. She was efficient, capable, compassionate, and informative. I was monitored for another two hours or so. Both Kate and the doctor explained that all testing was negative. I received thorough discharge instructions and I left. I was much relieved that I had nothing major going on and to follow up with a cardiologist.

Being a nurse for over 50 years, as an educator, director, CNO, and finishing my career as a nurse surveyor, I feel I can competently evaluate this experience. It was spot on. Kate was attentive, she let me know this was patient-centered care and I could refuse anything I didn't want. She had excellent IV skills and excellent hand hygiene skills. She also relayed how much she loves her job.

While no one wants to be in an ER for hours, this was truly a great experience. Everyone did their best to facilitate care. Everyone was pleasant, helpful, and professional. Kudos on a job well done. Thank you!
