Katelyn goes above and beyond for not only her patients, but our new nurse graduates as well. First, she always comes into work with a great attitude and disposition. She makes our new nurses feel very welcomed and embraced and ensures their needs are met. She does an excellent job at introducing them to the labor and delivery world including the physicians, OR staff, and Mother-baby team. Katelyn has trained several new nurse graduates and they are all outstanding! She prepares them to safely care for our patients, their families, and newborns on the most important days of their lives.

Recently, I delivered my 4th baby. It was a scheduled induction and I thought all would be the same as my past deliveries. Katelyn came in with such kindness and excitement and made sure I was comfortable and that the baby was healthy. Within a few hours, I received my epidural which Katelyn ensured I was calm for. As I progressed Katelyn confidently ensured me about how great I was going to do. She relaxed me as well because I knew she was going to take great care of me. A couple hours later the pain started to increase, and I could rely on Katelyn. She was doing all she could to help me deliver safely. Very close to go time, the pain increased even more and it was like none of my past births. She called for my doctor and we began pushing. Little did I know my baby girl, L, came out at 10 lbs! During the delivery, L’s shoulders were stuck, and my pain was excruciating. Katelyn was there coaching me and getting me through one of the hardest moments. She made sure I did what I needed to do in order to deliver L safely. This also allowed my doctor to do her job so she could stay focused on L. Katelyn continued to care for and coach me so all my goals were accomplished. My delivery would not be complete without me giving Katelyn the praise she deserves. The L & D team is so blessed to have a nurse like Katelyn who goes above and beyond for her patients.
