When a beloved family member is in the hospital, there are many thoughts that go through your mind. One of the most important is who will take care of my family member—especially when no one is present. Nurse Katelyn Dever put my concerns to rest. She is a rockstar! Katelyn made my mother feel as if she was her mother. She was kind, caring, and spent quality time with her, just listening and making her feel at ease. Katelyn spoke to my mother in a calm voice, clearly explaining medications, infusions, and how every aspect of her care is created with her getting well as quickly as possible. You can tell that for Katelyn, being a nurse is not a job; it’s a calling.

With multiple patients, she positively focused on one patient at a time, knowing that she may be the only visitor a patient receives in a day. Honestly, my mother is scheduled for open-heart surgery next month, and we asked Katelyn what her work schedule was so we could request her to be my mother’s nurse. To us, her care and kindness make her feel like family! AtlantiCare is fortunate to have such a wonderful nurse in Katelyn on their team! I hope she receives the acknowledgment she truly deserves!
