I was admitted to the hospital's special care department in December of 2022. I had a pregnancy loss at 22 weeks. I was broken and could even barely speak due to grief. Katelyn Lowe was so God-sent. She was calm and very empathetic, she literally cried with me, gave me warm hugs, was my advocate, and could explain to me what the doctor was planning to do. She gave me options for my care without pushing any method on me. Katelyn ensured that the support group dealing with child loss was set up for me. (The sufficient grace.) I never needed that.

When Katelyn left the shift, I begged her not to leave me alone. I felt like she was my family. She stayed so late after her shift, when she finally left, she kept calling to check on me as late as 11 pm into the night. Because of this encouragement, I was able to cope with the grief and got pregnant again after 6 months of the loss. I now have a healthy, gorgeous baby girl. 

Because of the support Katelyn gave me, my friend and I started a support group back in Kenya, my country, to support women who go through pregnancy loss.

I pray for Katelyn every day. She is an angel in human form. She is a true DAISY Nurse.
