She knows many of them by heart, and they know to call and ask directly for her when there is a problem. She makes sure to go above and beyond for all of her patients and stays informed with patients' families in regard to their health care needs.
Katelyn came to St. Joseph's in August of 2016, right after she graduated from Nursing School. She came in eager to learn and was paired to work with our largest producing provider in Primary Care. Over the years, she has grown in so many ways. She is extremely knowledgeable and is always willing to take on new tasks. Katelyn is a true reflection of our Mission and Ministry with St. Joseph. With her provider having such a large practice, she is really kept on her toes. She knows many of them by heart, and they know to call and ask directly for her when there is a problem. She makes sure to go above and beyond for all of her patients and stays informed with patients' families in regard to their health care needs. She has a contagious smile and brings a positive attitude to the office every day, and really pushes her coworkers in a positive way.

Just last week, one of her patients came in with chest pain and her left arm tingling. Her provider was not here yet, but she sprang into action by getting the patient back, delegating multiple duties (911 call, grabbing nitrostat, getting VS) while she grabbed a doctor to assist. Her fast reactions saved this patient's life. She stayed calm and did what she needed to do.

She is my clinic lead, and the staff go to her for questions, she is up to date on her knowledge, and it is nice to be able to lean on her. She is always asking questions and wanting to educate herself with new information. She continues to grow and will no doubt be managing her own clinic one day. Katelyn is an amazing person, friend, and coworker. She is truly a nurse that the DAISY Award was made for.
