My husband was a patient in Norton Brownsboro Hospital. I stayed with him the whole time, so I met some really good Nurses and Katelyn went above and beyond her duties. My husband received a Lymphoma Cancer diagnosis. She had seen the report before the doctor came in to talk to us. She came in and stayed with us while the doctor was talking to us and was able to help us process what he said after he left. This was a devastating time for us. We had waited for days to find out the results and we were hoping for a better report. Katelyn was very knowledgeable. If she didn’t know the answers, she would get them for us. She was very compassionate and really cared. She encouraged my husband to keep positive. She told him how important his attitude was for his recovery. We were so fortunate to have Katelyn for several days in a row. She was encouraging to me as well, and I felt she was open to hear any concerns I might have. When we first met Katelyn, she and my husband really clicked over Astronomy. My husband is a retired science teacher and taught four years of high school astronomy. Katelyn said at one time she thought she would be an astronomer, but realized that wasn’t a good choice for her. We are so glad she decided to go into nursing and that our paths crossed at Norton Brownsboro Hospital. Katelyn is outstanding at what she does.
