I occasionally fill in as a house coordinator at night. Over the last three nights, I have given MCU a ton of admits. Under stress, Katelynn continues to set a calm and collected tone for the unit. Her staff trusts her leadership even in chaos. The morale on MCU when Katelynn is in charge is always upbeat and positive. She is one of the few charge nurses who sees the whole hospital as one team and will do what is best for the greater good. She is more than happy to accommodate our staffing needs and patient placement needs. She will even take a few patients herself. I feel like she respects the house coordinators. I look forward to shifts when she is working because she gives me the sense that together we can handle anything. She is a true gem and should be celebrated! Katelyn, you are appreciated!
