Although increasingly rare, occasionally you come across an individual in the helping profession that genuinely is deserving of commendation and in this case much more. Over the last week, nurse Katie Potter has consistently demonstrated an infectious pleasant, positive, and always smiling disposition even when faced with some not so pleasant circumstances. It has been so refreshing to see someone continually being pro-active in offering to go above to make each patient's stay that much more comfortable.
Her knowledge of general medical info and more importantly the details of each patient chart without having to go check was not only rare but actually scary impressive and most reassuring. Most importantly, Katie displayed conscientiousness in all areas of her profession and genuine empathy to all those around her in sickness and/or pain. It cannot be overstated the difference that the care given by Katie makes to a patient like me and so many others not only physically but emotionally as well.
I had several roommates during my stay and every one commented on Katie's phenomenal work performance without question or prompting. Thank you Katie for helping get me through a rough patch in my life; you really do make a difference.
