Katie was actually like my life preserver; she guided me through all the necessary steps during the long year with cancer.
I received a call from my doctor telling me I had aggressive breast cancer and that a nurse navigator would be calling me. I later learned that I had triple-negative breast cancer. Well, after receiving news in such a manner, I could hardly breathe. I had no idea what a navigator was. That all changed once I met Katie. Katie was actually like my life preserver; she guided me through all the necessary steps during the long year with cancer. Katie always answered my calls or returned them promptly. She even attended some of my meetings with doctors. When I was at my lowest, Katie talked to me, lessened my worries, and always had an encouraging word. If I were concerned over a test or report found in my portal, she would take the time to understand my concerns and offer sound explanations, which often lessened my fears. I do not know how I would have survived the year of cancer if it wasn't for my navigator, Katie Harden. She was like my guardian angel in many ways. I just wanted to state how vital she was in my treatment at the Cancer Center. She is excellent at her job. Her caring and compassion for patients is outstanding. She should certainly be acknowledged for her excellent work. She is an asset to the program at the Cancer Center. I thank God every day for her and the help she provided me during the past year.
