Due to Katherine's calm, cool, and caring efforts, I was never concerned about what was happening next.
Katherine is by far the greatest example of how someone should represent St. John's Hospital. She is the most intelligent, caring, and understanding nurse that I have had the pleasure of interacting with.
On the evening of Tuesday, I had a Chron's attack in my room. My inside area near the belly button burst and out came an enormous amount of blood. There was blood everywhere and Katherine and her team sprang into action. Directly because of Katherine and her associate nurses, I did not get upset or panic, looking at and dealing with all of the blood and wound care that became immediately necessary. Katherine was calm and cool under the most adverse conditions. She was in command of the room and kept all three nurses focused and attentive at all times.
Due to Katherine's calm, cool, and caring efforts, I was never concerned about what was happening next. Katherine managed to keep everyone calm at the moment, took the time to explain to everyone, the nurses as well as me, what is happening and here is the next course of action and the immediate future is positive. Wow, wow, wow, what an honor to watch and listen to Katherine in all of her daily routine.
As I stated earlier, Katherine is a great ambassador for St. John's. Any hospital could only prosper when you have a nurse like this on board. I have been at St. John's for over 2 months this year and had 5 different rooms and 5 times here right now it has been 10 days on this incident. I have had the pleasure of dealing with several different nurses, and many were very, very good at their job. Katherine is simply head and shoulders above; she is the best I have ever seen. Katherine is a "Rockstar" and I am very fortunate to have met a nurse and spend quality time with her.
