Katherine Bustillo, BSN, RN
After several days in the PICU, we were moved to the Med/Surg unit. Kat was our daytime nurse. B instantly fell in love with her. Kat went above and beyond her job description to make sure we had everything we needed.
At one point, she came into the room just to tell B how cute he was, hold him, and tell him that she loved him so much! She made me feel so comfortable that I could leave my baby's side for the first time in days!
Kat's passion for her job radiates through her care of patients. She was able to quickly build a rapport with us. B would grab Kat's finger every time she came in the room, and she would talk to him and he would coo back at her. He smiled so big, showing off his dimples whenever she was with him.
When she left her shift, she made sure to tell us "goodnight, I love you Baby B, I'll see you in the morning!" She would also give me a reassuring hug. Kat may only have 2 months of experience with pediatrics, but she is incredible! We adore you, Kat, and we can't say thank you enough!
