I would like to nominate this nurse as she is a great example of what the DAISY Award stands for. She continues to be humble in her profession but is never afraid to step up and be a team player. She’s willing to do whatever it takes for the patient. She is always ready to step up to the plate in any situation, while also being calm in an emergent situation. There was a time when the ER was overwhelmed and she answered the call for help by finishing up her day and went straight up to the ER to assist, jumping right in to help troubleshoot. Many times, when I bring up a concern regarding my own children, she reassures not only my child but myself as well. She’s willing to do the follow-through for staff and patients. She takes the time to sit down, even if she truly doesn’t have the time to completely listen to a person, utilize her critical thinking, and assist in a solution. She utilizes her resources to find the best solution for patients and co-workers. She is the true definition of being a team member. She is a nurse who has been in many situations over the years and uses those experiences to help educate others whether it be a patient or co-worker. She continues to go above and beyond, with a willingness to always utilize her nursing skills, which in the end makes her amazing. Grant Regional is truly blessed to have a wonderful person such as this nurse.
