While my mom was in the MICU for almost 15 days (12 on life support), Kate bought our family food and drinks to last all day. Kate always talked to her even when she was on life support - to make sure my mom understood her care and she was always part of every decision that was being made. Kate displayed compassion, respect, hospitality, and even made us laugh. Kate put my mom's dignity, pride, and comfort at the forefront of all her actions. She encouraged my mom to be comfortable and helped her through the pain. She is a gift! Kate truly helped my mom be ready for her transition to be with the Lord.
