One of our patients had an outpatient surgery, and Kathy cared for them following their surgery. She observed my patient having irregular heart rhythms. The patient was stable enough to discharge home, but the next morning Kathy called me as the patient’s primary care provider to discuss her concerns about the irregular heart rhythm. She helped me find the heart rhythm strips on the chart so I could assess them. Her dedication to quality patient care and concern for our mutual patient helped expedite the process to obtain diagnostic tests. She had spoken with the surgeon the day of surgery and the surgeon also notified me, when I thanked him for his help he replied “You are welcome, but thank Kathy. I have been here 22 years and I think she was already in the post anesthesia care unit when I came. She is very good at her job.”
