Katherine Matthews, RN

During my two surgeries and 10 day hospital stay...my first ever in 70 years...Katherine was one of my nurses on the 8th floor. She regularly went "the extra mile" to provide me as much comfort as possible, always with added encouragement. She was careful and gentle when administering the necessary care and added the personal and human touch each time.

At one point early after surgery, she stood and held cold washcloths to my head and neck simply as a gesture of caring. She didn't have to do that, and I appreciated it more than can be described. Katherine is a true example of what a nurse is meant to be.
